Mighton Construction Named 2026 Custom Home Builder of the Year by the South Georgian Bay Building Association

The South Georgian Bay Building Association (SGBBA) has named Mighton Construction its 2026 Custom Home Builder of the Year. This is the first year the association has presented the award.

The SGBBA brings together the builders, renovators, trades and suppliers who work across South Georgian Bay. When the people who pour the footings, frame the walls and supply the materials pick one builder in the region, it carries real weight for us.

What the award recognizes

The award recognizes workmanship, client service and professionalism among the region’s residential builders. Those are the same things we try to deliver on every project:

• Workmanship that suits this climate. Lake-effect snow, freeze-thaw cycles and waterfront exposure are hard on a house. We build for them, often with insulated concrete form (ICF) construction.
• Clear budgets. Many of our clients choose Time and Materials billing, so they see every cost as the build moves forward.
• A family company that stays involved. We take on a limited number of projects each year, so the people you meet at the start are the people running your build.
